If you care anything at all about the true roots of NASCAR, please read "Driving With The Devil" by Neal Thompson. It is the most definitive, and true, history of NASCAR that the France Family don't want you to know about. The book explains why, but unlike what the upcoming media hype would have you believe, what became NASCAR actually started in Georgia. Not Florida, not North or South Carolina, and sure as hell not Alabama.
This is my favorite time of year as far as sports are concerned. Unlike any other sport, we start our season with our "Super Bowl."
Auto racing, bull fighting, and mountain climbing are the only real sports. All others are games.
